THE STORY OF SFERA

From the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea, SFERA is a collaboration with small certified-organic growers to bottle and can wine in small batches from all over Italy. A singular vineyard on a hill, a few rows of mountain vines, some limestone soils near the sea: we’re searching for unique terroirs from farmers working the land respectfully. Wines to drink, wines with terroir!

The Sfera project is committed to bottling wines from fabulous organic producers in Italy and selling them at value pricing here in the states.  This current iteration of their Rosso is made in collaboration with Lombardian producer Frecciarossa, and is a blend of Uva Rara (30%), Barbera (30%), Croatina (10%), Pinot Nero (15%) and Riesling Renano (15%), and is possibly the most perfect example of glou-glou meets true Northern Italian terroir/varietal typicity that we've encountered.  It's light, bright, juicy and irresistibly delicious, yes, but without allowing all that legendary Lombardian earthy/herbaceous character to be obscured.  All Summer long, baby!
